On Thursday, Vera Gail and I drove up to Eden to check out Carver's Cove Petting Farm. We just loved it! When we told the family about it at dinner, the boys really wanted to go too, so we headed out after school (they get out early on Friday) and went back up there, because the last day of September was the petting farm's final day before they close for the winter. I don't have pictures with all the animals, because I just took some with my phone, but they had cows, donkeys, several kinds of sheep, llamas, horses, miniature ponies, goats, hogs and piglets, bunnies, a portuguese potbelly pig (who looked like a mini-hippopotamus!), turkeys, geese, ducks, hens, roosters, dogs and cats!
Here are the kids on the tractor.

Emmett feeding some of the horses. All the animals at the petting farm were very, very sweet. You can tell that the owners are kind to them and take good care of them.

Some of the horses hoping for a treat. All their horses are former mustangs. Apparently the wild horses are rounded up periodically and some of them sold to keep the herd sizes in control.

The tractor was given a thorough examination by our future inventor-engineers (their current life aspiration).
